Here Comes the Sun

Client Brief

Add lighting to a sun-starved back garden and offer a more dramatically lit front entrance.

Our Solution

We positioned soft lighting within flowerbeds and below benches, introducing lots of shadows into the garden and mimicking sunlight flooding the back of the house. By also adding the right colour onto the Corten panels, we created the illusion of a focal ‘fireplace’. We added interest to the entrance by installing low level lighting directed upwards and through the planting to throw shadows onto the walls which gave the area a much broader feel and all the drama it needed. The existing wall lights were left on a separate switch, whilst the new lighting was controlled by a time clock and dusk to dawn controls.
